I just had to post a few of my favorite pictures from one of my most recent photoshoots. These two little boys are about the cutest boys I've ever seen--and just about the quickest too! They gave me a good run around, but it was all worth it.

These two were high school sweethearts. I love stories like that.

Could you just die from the adorableness?? I think I could.

Luckily parents tend to hold still, so I usually get some great ones of the moms and dads. :)

And some funny ones too.

I finally, FINALLY, finished editing these pictures for a friend. It took me forever because I did it as a present and wanted to give him a million pictures for all of her help. These were a few of my favorites. These boys are just plain adorable.

I may or may not be planning an arranged marriage between this little guy and my little girl. :)

I have to brag on this blog at least once. Here are some quick snapshots I took of my boy about a month ago. He's just about the cutest boy on the planet. I refuse to admit any bias. :)

I have a thing for baby footsies.

He's my handsome fella, especially with that cowboy shirt he's sporting. Oh and on a sidenote, I took these photos right next to a pretty ugly sliding glass door in my kitchen. Just goes to show that the important thing is the light and the subject. :) A soft blankie for the background doesn't hurt either.

It's been a long time

But I am going to re-open my business. I took time off while I had a baby and moved cross country (can you blame me?) :) but now I am back and excited to do some amazing photoshoots. This is my favorite time of year to do them, right before the holidays get too crazy.

Anyway, here are some pictures I took of my kids on a recent beach vacation, and hopefully I'll have some family photoshoots for the holidays to show off soon!

Senior Pictures

I never posted these, but I love how they turned out. These were the last pictures I took before we moved, and they were of our amazing babysitter. She was graduating and I offered to take her pictures as a graduation gift. She looked so beautiful (what eyes, right??) and it was so fun to take pictures of someone that actually sat still! :) These are low res copies because the originals are on my computer that is acting up, but you still get the idea of what a cute girl she is.

I also love senior pictures because you can use more urban colors and fun settings.

Gotta love the purple converse.

I haven't posted on here for a really long time, mostly because I took a bit of a sabbatical while we moved and I had a baby. :) I decided to finally get back into the saddle again and take some pictures for a friend that helped our family out a ton when we really needed help the most. Thanks Wendy and Chris! So here are just a few pictures that I've edited so far. Her boys are the CUTEST! Hope you like them. :)

Just finished editing these pictures from my photoshoot last week. Isn't this little baby beautiful? I wish I could upload the images in their full resolution so you could see how truly gorgeous they are (I sometimes hate posting them online because they differ so much for the actual image quality since I'm too lazy to wait so long for such huge files to upload). But anyway this time I tried a few new ideas that came to me recently. I am absolutely in LOVE with the tulle pictures--so I am unabashedly tooting my own horn (maybe I'll post a high res of that shot somewhere because it is so cool looking!).

Some more favorites (and finished finally!)

So, finally, I have finished editing my dear friend Meredith's wedding pictures. I wanted to make sure I did a good job, so I took a long while to finish them. But hopefully the newlyweds will like the finished product. In celebration of finishing, I thought I would post a few more of my favorites, including some shots from their reception. (Did I mention it was one of the most gorgeous receptions I've ever been to? They rented a huge white tent, had it in the middle of a lovely tree-filled park, had a live jazz band, wonderful food, a ring ceremony for family and friends unable to attend the temple ceremony, and lots of happy people.) Also, the bride was formerly a member of the BYU Swing Dance Team, which should tell you how fabulous she looked while dancing with her groom. Those two really cut a rug.

Anyway, enjoy! (I know I did. Love you Merz!)

Similar to the last picture, but I love how her lips are pursed. I don't know why. And the best skin ever. I really need to ask her what she does to make her skin look so flawless!

Apparently the groom likes to rock climb and so we thought this was a funny pose. Their kids are going to love this picture someday, don't you think?? :)

I loved this moment. I may not have mentioned this, but it was FREEZING on this day, and the bride was not wearing a long dress. She was a trooper. But while we were arranging another group to take some pictures, her Dad stepped over and wrapped her in his arms to warm her up and to give her a hug. I guess I love it because I think the picture is lovely, but I love it more for what it shows about the love between a dad giving up his daughter on her wedding day. It's a moment I'll remember for a long time. :)

So here's my latest photo shoot. My old friend from freshman days at BYU was kind enough to ask me to take her family's pictures. So not only was it fun to see her again and meet her family, but the fact that 1. her little boy is adorable, 2. She and her husband could both be models, and 3. Val also happens to have the most flawless skin I have ever seen, period! made it one of the best photo shoots yet. Her little boy also happens to have as much energy as my daughter Maddy, so it was fun to try and catch him smiling/looking at the camera at all. Val, you will be relieved to know not only did I get one picture of him smiling, I got several!! Hope you enjoy, and your c.d. will be in the mail soon!One of my favorite pics yet. I was as obsessed with his cute little converse shoes as his mom probably was! Can't believe I caught him sitting still long enough for this pic!

This photo shoot was a first for me. The first big group shots that I have done indoor. I was a little anxious about how they would turn out since my preference is to shoot outdoors, but overall I think they turned out really great. I just barely had the chance to photograph these kids and it was a blast. Aren't they all adorable? The first few are of a little boy named M. (I use their first initials to keep them private) who doesn't happen to belong to the family (he tagged along with his friend S., the football player) so I took his pictures too!Mr. M. in all his cuteness.

Welcome to my photography blog/business! This is something that I've been dreaming of doing for a very long time, so I'm excited that you've come to visit! I'll be updating this as I have photo shoots and I'll also be adding pictures from my own family that I've played around with.

So let me introduce myself quickly. I'm a self-taught photographer who loves to take pictures of families, couples, kids, babies, just about anything! I am based out of Charleston, South Carolina.

I mostly specialize in outdoor candid shots, but have done weddings, and baby photo shoots indoor as well. I love to capture people's personalities and true-to-life expressions.

As a mother myself, it is also very important to me to keep my services affordable for regular families like yours. So my pricing is as follows:

Newborn Pictures (0-3 months): $50
Baby Pictures (3 months-toddlerhood): $50
Kid and Teenage Pictures (includes all kids in family): $45
Engagement Pictures: $45
Family Pictures (which includes several individual shots as well): $80
all other types depend on situation and time (feel free to email me with questions)

All of these photo shoots give you several images that have been edited and placed on a cd so that you have full rights to all of the photos (meaning you can make as many copies yourself as you like without paying me!)
